The Lorie Johnson Foundation was founded in February, 2008 with the purpose of assisting women who have been diagnosed with cancer through education, awareness, active fundraising, and financial support for medical bills, living expenses, and travel for medical purposes.

The Lorie Johnson Foundation held its first official fundraiser on July 17 at The Veranda on Highland. More than 100 people attended this dinner that was emceed by James Spann from ABC 33/40.
