The Lorie Johnson Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that was founded in February 2008 in honor of Lorie Johnson (Please see Lorie’s story). Realizing that there is limited financial support for women with cancer, The Lorie Johnson Foundation was established. The purpose of the organization is to assist women who have been diagnosed with cancer through education, awareness, active fundraising, and financial support such as medical bills, living expenses, and travel.
Grants are made to eligible women based on urgency and need through an application process and are the sole discretion of the Board Members.
The Lorie Johnson Foundation relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to continue the goal of raising awareness and financial support for women with cancer. Due to the gracious donations of individuals and corporations, the Lorie Johnson Foundation gave more than $56,000 in 2008 to women who are battling cancer.
